Did you know that per capita, Canada uses more energy each year than almost any other country. This is because Canada has one of the highest ratios of car ownership in the world. That is why Natural Resources Canada's Office of Energy Efficiency (NRCan) has developed the Auto$mart Program. Its purpose is to help Canadians buy, drive and maintain their vehicles in ways that will conserve energy, preserve the environment, protect our health and save money. Auto$mart—A New Point of View Driver Education Kit How Driver Educators can help An integral part of the Auto$mart Program is the development of a module that provides driver educators with information to help students think about their driving behaviour in a new way—a way that makes the connection between fuel efficiency, climate change and road safety. Auto$mart—A NewPoint of View, looks at the benefits of safe, fuel-efficient driving: the personal benefits, the financial benefits, and the benefits to the world's environment. The module includes an Instructor's Guide, Student Workbook, a 35 minute video, and an interactive CD-ROM. How to Register If you are a driver educator and wish to incorporate Auto$mart — A New Point of View into your training program, you can register for your free kit by calling toll free at 1-800-387-2000, or you may register on-line. |
