  Instructor Licensing
Renewing an Instructor's Licence

Customer Surveys:

Instructor's Licenses expire every 2 years on the last day of the 23rd month.  Approximately 3 months prior to expiry, a renewal package will be sent to the residence of the instructor for their completion.

NOTE:  Instructors whose place of residence will be changing are required to contact our office within 10 days of an address change in order for us to update our records accordingly.  Notifying us prior to re-locating will ensure that an instructor receives their renewal package or any other correspondence sent by this office.

It is the responsibility of the instructor to ensure that his or her instructor's licence is renewed.  Contact ICBC's Driver Training & Assessment Standards if you do not receive a renewal package within 1 month of expiry.

Application Requirements

In order for an instructor to renew his or her licence, the following requirements must be met:

Completion of an Application for a British Columbia Instructor's Licence (MV2412)
A Driver Training Instructor Medical Evaluation (MV2096) completed by your family physician
Completion of a Driver Training Instructor Medical Examination Request (MV2097)
Criminal Record Search completed by an RCMP or Police Detachment
Instructor Licence Fee ($30.00); cheque payable to ICBC
($15.00 for each additional or duplicate licence)

During the review of the instructor application, Driver Training & Assessment Standards will check for any debts owing to the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia.  Any outstanding debts must be paid prior to the issuance of an instructor's licence.

NOTE:  If your renewal package is incomplete, please contact us immediately.
