All driving school instructors within British Columbia, must hold a valid driver training instructor's licence to offer driver training to the paying public. These licences are issued by ICBC's Driver Training Unit for a period of two years less a day and must be renewed upon expiry. An instructor must meet a number of prerequisites including
the successful completion of an instructor training course at
an ICBC approved Instructor Training Facility. These requirements
are legislated under 27.07(1)
of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations. (a) without
expectation of compensation or other consideration, Driver training instructors are legislated under Division of the Motor Vehicle Act Regulations of British Columbia. Driver training instructors can only deliver training to the paying public who are enrolled at a licensed driver training school. |
